  • Progressive Care Unit - 3 North is a 17-bed unit that consists of a diverse patient population of general PCU/MS. Standard of care is geared towards a multisystem PCU/MS practice with occasional basic intravenous drips. 3 North utilizes remote cardiac monitoring for all PCU level of care patients with nurse review of all cardiac rhythms and intervention as required. Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4 is geared to the skills mix of the patient population.
  • Multisystem PCU - This campus houses three Multisystem Progressive Care Units that treat patients with multisystem involvement such as CAP, diabetes, PAD and heart failure. The 2East PCU has 44 beds, the 2North PCU has 27 beds, and the 3East PCU has 53 beds. Each of these units has a nurse to patient ratio of 1:3.
  • Surgical PCU - Florida Hospital Orlando houses two Surgical Progressive Care Units, both located in our new patient tower.

    The Florida Hospital 8Tower Surgical PCU is a 21-bed unit caring for various post-surgical procedures such as colon surgeries, nephrology and urology. Our team strongly believes in teamwork, excellence, and extending the healing ministry of Christ. The specially trained registered nurses in the Surgical Progressive Care Unit are proud that we are highly skilled in caring for a complex surgical patient. We have a highly engaged team that work well with the various surgeons and allied health professionals. Our collaborative team efforts are supported by the Surgical Governance that is multi-disciplinary, oversees best practice, monitors performance, and directs operational issues.

    The Florida Hospital 14Tower Surgical PCU has 39 beds and manages care for general surgical patients undergoing treatment for various surgical procedures, colon surgeries, nephrology, urology, jaw patients and patients in for transplantation (kidney, liver, and pancreas). This unit takes surgical patients and surgical PCU patients.

  • Transplant - The Florida Hospital Transplant Unit is an 18 private room Progressive Care Unit taking care of post-kidney, pancreas, and liver transplants. Our team strongly believes in teamwork, excellence, and extending the healing ministry of Christ. The specially trained registered nurses in the Transplant Unit are proud that we are highly skilled in caring for a complex transplant patient. We have a highly engaged team that work well with the Transplant Surgeons and the Transplant Center. Our collaborative team efforts are supported by the Transplant Governance that is multi-disciplinary, oversees best practice, monitors performance, and directs operational issues.
  • Renal Dialysis - Nurses on this 15-bed unit provide hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, red and white blood cell exchanges, and total plasma exchange for adults requiring PCU-level care.
  • Medical Surgical PCU - We’re responsible for the compassionate, quality care of general medical surgical/PCU patients being treated for a wide range of diagnosis. Remote telemetry is featured on the unit. This 32-bed unit operates at a 1:4 or 1:5 nurse to patient ratio.
  • Clinical Transition Unit - Our area features 32 beds and offers a healing space devoted to monitoring, observing and continuing care for patients from the Chest Pain Observation Unit, Discharge Center and Transition Unit. Advanced technologies include Philips telemetry, Philips cardiac monitors, plum pumps, I-Stat, PYXIS and Accucheck, along with the latest in chest pain, syncope and unstable angina testing.
  • Fracture Care Center - The Fracture Care Center features 39 beds and specializes in treating complex orthopaedic trauma patients. Directed by our Orthopaedic surgeons and our interdisciplinary team, patients experience our individualized expert care from admission, through surgery and discharge. The nurse to patient ratio on this unit is 1:3 or 1:4.
