Our emergency department is well equipped to extend the healing ministry of Christ with area-leading physicians, expert clinicians and the latest technologies for tracking vital signs, lab results, x-rays and more. Our state-of-the-art ED is one of the largest in the U.S. with 52 functional private rooms and capacity for 72 beds. Working in the emergency department offers exposure to clinical trials and other cutting-edge procedures.
Emergency Flight Unit
Equipped with critical care nurses, a respiratory therapist and technologically sophisticated life-saving equipment, Florida Flight 1 serves as an in-air intensive care unit, with physician back up from Florida Hospital Orlando. Our challenges are exceptional as we handle a diverse patient population that often includes cardiac patients, neurological injuries, premature babies or organ transplant candidates. On any 12-hour shift the flight team might travel as far as 150 miles to bring critically ill patients back to the world class services of Florida Hospital. Aside from having the best view of Central Florida, we are experts in airway management, critical care nursing, interventions, invasive line monitoring and the latest in-air medical care.
Emergency Psychiatric Clinical Decision Unit
This 24-hour intensive assessment facility provides multidisciplinary care to people who are suffering from physical, mental or emotional crisis. Patients will be admitted, discharged or referred to an extended care resource.
