Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children is home to a 53-bed Level III NICU and a 28-bed Level II NICU, where we provide the highest level of care for God’s tiniest miracles. We’re proud to have successfully helped more than 11,000 babies overcome serious health issues through our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Level III Newborn ICU – Neonatal - Our 53-bed unit treats premature and critically ill infants and features 40 private rooms for quality care. The unit is staffed 24/7 with an experienced team of highly trained neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, neonatal nurses, respiratory therapists and pharmacists.

Speech, child life, and music therapists provide additional support to our patients. We also have a Neonatal transport team, safely transporting over 300 critically ill infants per year, as well as a dedicated PICC line team comprised of experienced neonatal nurses. The nurse to patient ratio in the neonatal unit is 1:1 or 1:2.

Level II Special Care Nursery - We are a 28-bed Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Step-Down Unit), caring for term and premature ill infants that are in their convalescing phase. It is a locked unit and badge access is required to enter. Occupational, music, speech therapy and lactation consultants are an integral part of our unit. The nurse to patient ratio in the special care nursery is 1:3 or 1:4.
