Your paycheck may be deposited directly into a checking or savings account at your bank if you choose.

Educational Reimbursement
Reimbursement for attending certain classes at institutions of higher learning will be provided depending on the grade you receive in the class. This benefit is available to you after one year of employment.

Employee Assistance Plan
Free referral and counseling services are available for you and your immediate family members for up to six visits per year. This benefit is available immediately upon employment and is paid for by Florida Hospital.

Flexible Spending Accounts
A Flexible Spending Account permits you to pay for qualifying medical or dependent care expenses with your pre-tax earnings. You may establish a dependent care spending account after three months of employment and a medical spending account after one year of employment.

A 10 percent discount is available on all gift shop purchases immediately upon employment. Payroll deduction is available.

Medical Benefits
Florida Hospital offers an excellent health care plan to its full-time and eligible part-time employees at very competitive rates. Coverage for family members is also available. You are eligible for this coverage after three months of employment.

Special discounts for employees purchasing automobiles, appliances, clothing, prescriptions, etc. from participating merchants are available immediately upon employment

Nursing Orientation
A minimum of two weeks of general and unit orientation is provided immediately upon employment.

Nursing Training
A thirteen-week Critical Care internship, six-month operating room internship or eight-week preceptor-based Graduate Nurse Program are available for qualified individuals at specific times during the year. These programs are paid for by Florida Hospital with an employment commitment from you. A fully accredited, part-time BSN program is available at Florida Hospital Orlando after three months of employment. This benefit is paid for by Florida Hospital and you.

Other Insurance
Life Insurance coverage in an amount equal to your annual pay is provided to eligible full-time employees at no cost following the completion of three months of employment. Coverage in greater amounts is available for purchase at low, group rates. Part-time employees may also purchase this coverage. Malpractice insurance is provided to eligible employees. It is available immediately upon employment. Dental, Short-term disability, Long-term disability, Cancer, Supplemental Life and Dependent Life insurance are also available. These coverage’s are paid by you through payroll deductions and are available after three months of employment.

Paid Days Off
Rather than providing employees a specific number of vacation days, holidays and sick days, Florida Hospital uses an innovative, all encompassing "Paid Days Off" system. This approach provides for the creation of a "Paid Days Off" account for each eligible employee into which Florida Hospital places funds each pay day. Payment for any time off is made to you from your "Paid Days Off" account. The rate at which you accumulate funds in your account is determined by your years of employment at Florida Hospital as well as the specific division of the hospital in which you work. Employees may "cash out" certain unused "Paid Days Off" at the end of the calendar year. Eligible employees begin accumulating "Paid Days Off" immediately upon employment and may begin using them after three months.

Prescription items are available at reduced rates at the Family Health Center Pharmacy at Florida Hospital Orlando. Payroll deduction is available.

Retirement Plan
Florida Hospital maintains an excellent retirement program for eligible employees. The plan, called the Adventist Healthcare Retirement Plan (AHRP), provides for employer cash contributions to employee accounts. Florida Hospital also matches a portion of the funds that you voluntarily contribute to the plan. You may choose between seven different mutual funds for investing the money in your retirement account. In addition to AHRP, a voluntary Tax Sheltered Annuity program is offered through the Variable Annuity Life Insurance Company (VALIC) providing you with even more investment opportunities as you plan for retirement. Both of these plans are available immediately upon employment in an eligible position.

Wellness Program
Florida Hospital provides a comprehensive employee wellness program that includes annual screenings. This benefit is paid for entirely by Florida Hospital and is available immediately upon employment. Participation in this program will also lower the health care plan premiums you pay.

Workers' Compensation
Medical care and partial replacement of wages for on-the-job injuries is available through Worker's Compensation insurance. This benefit is paid for entirely by Florida Hospital and is available to you immediately upon becoming a Florida Hospital employee.
