Florida Hospital Altamonte is accredited and certified at the highest level, meeting and exceeding national standards for equipment, operating safety and professional credentials. Nurses work alongside the most skilled surgeons in Central Florida, and must complete an intensive internship in surgical nursing prior to joining this department. There are six operating suites within our Surgical Services area, available to handle general surgery, gynecology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, plastics, vascular and urology procedures. Patients range in age from pediatric to adult, and all are treated with the utmost in team-oriented care by experienced nurses and certified surgical techs.

Surgical Suite

Our world-class surgical suite features 30,000 square-feet of state-of-the-art space, within which we are able to offer microscopic, arthroscopic, laser, endoscopic and video technologies. The suite includes 6 operating rooms, 8 pre-op beds, 12 PACU beds and 10 private post-op beds. But the highlight is our integrated multi-media operating rooms, equipped with a technology platform for live surgical broadcasts, web-based education and instructional video production, international connectivity and multiple education/conference centers.

Through our new integration system and video conferencing capabilities, our OR is part of The Nicholson Center for Surgical Advancement (NCSA), currently located at Florida Hospital Celebration Health. Ambulatory Surgery Center

Located within the Medical Plaza on our campus, our Ambulatory Surgery Center is recognized for being especially efficient, without sacrificing the personalized quality care our patients expect. Surgeries are scheduled from 7am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, with an emphasis on general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, plastic surgery, podiatry and ENT.
