The Baby Place at Florida Hospital Altamonte has decades of experience caring for generations of babies, and it just keeps getting better! In fact, the Florida Hospital Altamonte’s Birth Center is the only maternity unit to offer a birthing center within a hospital. We have neonatology and transportation teams on alert if needed, and also offer two post-anesthesia care units and two operating rooms for babies born via cesarean section.

Florida Hospital Altamonte utilizes mobile fetal monitoring and specializes in alternative birthing methods for low-risk births – all within an amenity-rich, home-like setting. Our employees also appreciate the services of our 24/7 “Lactation Office” to support new moms at work.

Specialty units here consist of 6 Labor & Delivery rooms, a 17-bed Mother-Baby Unit, and a Level 1 Newborn Nursery. Lactation services are available seven days a week, along with 24-hour in-house anesthesia support.
