As part of the Florida Hospital Cancer Institute, our oncology unit serves as the only comprehensive cancer program in Seminole County with the ability to offer world-class care to both inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy recipients. Our Oncology unit has 36 large, state-of-the-art private rooms with cardiac monitoring capability, which were designed with direct input from the clinical staff. We primarily treat an adult patient population diagnosed with melanoma, breast, lung and colorectal cancers. Average length of inpatient stay is approximately four days, although with repeated admissions we are able to build close relationships with our patients and their families.

The Oncology staff consists of a nurse manager, assistant nurse managers, charge nurses, registered nurses, nurse techs and health unit coordinators. Our nurse to patient ratio is 1:4, and computerized charting and online self-scheduling are also important features of this unit.
