Since opening our doors in 1908, Florida Hospital has offered one of the most comprehensive children’s health programs in Central Florida. Today, we continue this legacy of pediatric excellence through Florida Hospital for Children. Our campus is home to 30 pediatric sub-specialties led by a team of 400+ nurses and physicians. We provide specialized care in various state-of-the-art settings, including an 81-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with private family-centered rooms, an Advanced Center for Pediatric Surgery handling nearly 4,000 cases each year, and one of the few pediatric oncology programs in the area. We’re also Central Florida’s only pediatric provider for bone marrow transplant, kidney transplant, Gamma Knife services, trilogy radiation and Level III epilepsy care. But perhaps most exciting of all, is that this is the first—and only—hospital to bear the Disney name.
Every detail about our 164-bed pediatric hospital is designed to nurture the young spirit. From our 8-bed Pediatric Emergency Department to our 8-bed Pediatric Outpatient Unit, we provide the most advanced pediatric/neonatal care available, all within a warm, Disney-themed environment. This unique setting helps ease the stress and anxiety associated with a hospital stay. We also have specially trained therapists known as the Child Life Team to help children cope with hospitalization through education, play and music.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Florida Hospital for Children is home to a 53-bed Level III NICU and a 28-bed Level II NICU, where we provide the highest level of care for God’s tiniest miracles. We’re proud to have successfully helped more than 11,000 babies overcome serious health issues through our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Pediatrics
Florida Hospital for Children houses a variety of pediatric specialties. Patients range in age group as well as in diagnosis. That’s why our 39-bed Pediatric Inpatient Unit for Acuity III children provides care for patients from early infancy through adolescence, treating individuals with medical/surgical and hematological/oncology conditions.

Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Florida Hospital for Children is home to a 12-bed PICU, which is specially designed to provide holistic healing for patients and their families. Our unit is equipped with the latest technologies, including full life support and monitoring for children of all ages.
