The Baby Place at Florida Hospital Altamonte has decades of experience caring for generations of babies, and it just keeps getting better!

Specialty units here consist of Labor & Delivery, a Mother-Infant Unit (MIU), and Newborn Nursery. And we have renovated the entire area to include 18 private rooms, several birthing rooms, and two birthing suites with a spacious home-like atmosphere. Lactation services are available seven days a week, along with 24-hour in-house anesthesia support.

Nurses at the Baby Place work 12-hour shifts and every other weekend, and must be comfortable in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment. L&D nursing, in particular, requires an empathetic nature, along with good prioritization, critical thinking and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication skills are also essential to interface effectively with a wide diversity of patients, family members and other health care providers.

Most of our nurses have some general Med/Surg background, and are able to participate in our internships and clinical ladder for career growth and skills development.
