Florida Hospital has been a national leader in the fight against heart disease since
1967, when we first opened our Cardiovascular Institute. Today, we are providing
state-of-the-art care in several locations, handling common cardiac diseases and
the rarest of heart problems.
We receive more than 70,000 cardiac-related visits annually, with more than 25,000
individuals being treated for chest pain across our eight emergency rooms. A comprehensive
team approach to patient care is one reason we have such a superior cardiac program.
Opportunities are often available in our Cardiac Cath and EP Labs, Cardiac Medical
and Cardiovascular Surgical units. In fact, our nurses help to perform over 1,700
cardiac surgeries a year, including valve repair/replacement, heart remodeling,
ascending arch aneurysms, MAZE and more.
The cardiovascular team also participates and collaborates in prominent cardiac
research studies, actively exploring new treatment options and cutting-edge technologies
